My Dear Brother

Tomorrow I begin operations in another field, & bid good bye to Old Hanover with its warm hearts and dear firesides for some time.

Finding a horse that suited me admirable the other day I took the liberty of drawing again on Stuart Buchanan & Co at 10 days sight, for $350.  I saw Gov Letcher after his return, he was pleased with his visit and spoke of having dined with you.  I trust you will soon hear of the defeat & annihilation of Pope.  Dr Price treated us with remarkable kindness, which I can never forget.  Give much love to ours.

Your aff. brother
J.E.B.Stuart
