miles West of near [illegible] CH close to the enemy – We are confident of
whipping him. Lynchburg is so crowded
and Richmond is getting less so. I have
concluded that it would be better for you to come to Richmond provided
you & the children are well enough.
Come in “light marching order” leaving your “heavy baggage” at
Lynchburg. I trust you can get a room
for 200. at Mrs Duvals. We are
confident of whipping the enemy. Our
[illegible] in fine spirits and determined to whip.
Richmond is
about as safe as any place & I want you to be near me.
